Windows 8.1: change the screen resolution

Windows 8.1 brings some changes in its configuration settings, changing the screen resolution is one of these novelties.

1. Open the charms barclick on the gear wheelSettings ” and ” Change PC settings at the very bottom right.

2. Click on “ PCs and peripherals » .

4. The screen resolution is indicated in pixels, for example 1280 x 800. Move the black square towards the left to decrease or to the right to increase the screen resolution.

The resolution of your screen depends on its characteristics. Since LCD and LED screens, it is better to use the optimal resolution, that is to say the highest, offered by the screen because the others risk being blurred.

Generally, 15-inch laptops have a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. High-end models and/or larger than 17″ can display 1920×1080, i.e. FullHD.

Desktop computer monitors today are all in 16:9 or 16:10 widescreen format. There are resolutions of 1680×1050 for 21 and 22″, 1920×1080 or 1920×1200 in 24″, 2560×1440 for 27″ and up to 2560×1600 for screens of 30 inches or more. The exotic 21:9 cinema format allows a resolution of 2560×1080.
