Windows 10: move the Start menu left, right, or top of the screen

For aesthetic, practical or simply to geek out in front of friends and family, you can choose to change the default location of the Windows taskbar. For years, this horizontal bar has been located at the bottom of the screen on all computers. With a few clicks, it is possible to move the Windows taskbar vertically to the left or right side, or horizontally across the top of the screen. This procedure is compatible with desktops and laptops, for home and business.

This tutorial was performed on Windows 10 Anniversary Edition (1607), i.e. with the latest updates available for the Microsoft operating system. Previous versions of Windows are more or less identical but you can request on our forum for instructions on how to proceed.
