Remove duplicate bookmarks from Safari

After years of use, Safari can get polluted with duplicate bookmarks, also called bookmarks. Because Apple allows different devices to sync with each other through an iCloud account, bookmarks from different devices can be interchanged. This leads to duplicate bookmarks in Safari. In this article, I turn to the Mac.

The reason is usually the synchronization of the Safari bookmarks using the iCloud ID on different devices such as an iPhone, iPad and Mac computers. This can cause a lot of irritation to users. Safari itself does not immediately provide a solution, unfortunately. In this article, you can use software or manually to organize and delete the bookmarks in Safari where necessary.

Manually delete duplicate bookmarks from Safari

It is also possible to manually remove duplicate bookmarks from Safari. It’s a method that takes some time. It is possible to select and remove duplicate bookmarks from Safari one by one. You select the bookmark from the list and right-click delete. The bookmark has now been removed.

What might be even faster is creating a new folder with the Safari bookmarks. Then drag the unwanted duplicate bookmark (s) into the newly created folder. When you are done, click on the new folder and select delete. All duplicate bookmarks in this new folder have now been removed.
