You are not dreaming, Microsoft plans to release a new version of Windows (Windows 12) while they announced a few years ago that Windows 10 would be the last operating system available.
Windows 12: The successor to Windows 11
Windows 11 It hasn’t been obvious that Microsoft is already preparing Windows 12. These are obviously only rumors, but it seems that the future Windows is scheduled for 2024.
The Redmont firm would choose to release a new version of Windows every 3 years. Windows 11 was released in 2021.
Microsoft is therefore changing its strategy and would offer major updates to its system, these updates would also be offered much more quickly.
To date Microsoft offers 1 major update per year.
Windows 10 is still popular with users, with software support ending in 2025, it still has a few years ahead of it.
Windows 12: A complete system change?
Still according to rumours, Windows 12 would completely change its graphic charter. Indeed, some visual elements are still present since Windows Visa. the control panel always keeps the same menus.
We do not yet know the new features offered in Windows 12, these are rumors. We hope in any case that the hardware restrictions will not be too important, even if they are easily bypassed for Windows 11.
Starting with Windows 11 version 22H2 (Sun Valley 2), Microsoft launches a new project “moment” which aims to enable the company to deploy new features and experiences at key times throughout the year rather than major OS releases.
The goal is to offer major new features quickly and several times a year to users.
It would also seem that Microsoft offers the free migration to Windows 12.
As for Windows 11 and of course provided you meet the prerequisites, you can in my opinion migrate from Windows 10 to Windows 12 for free, it will also be possible to do the same from Windows 11 to Windows 12.
So are you excited to experience Windows 12?
