The Microsoft Office office suite has been updated to version 2016, to succeed 2000, xP 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013. Yet another evolution of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other software, but is- what necessary to buy a pack Office 2016 if you already have a previous version?
The Office 2016 suite brings some new functionalities:
- full integration of OneDrive (Microsoft online storage)
- editing of documents with several people in real time
- new filters Outlook for an “inbox zero” reception box
- improvement of Business Intelligence (BI) in Excel
- new Sway software for more interactive presentations than PowerPoint
- instant communication Skype for business instead of Lync
- Return of Clippy, the little Office assistant that can use Cortana from Windows 10
No revolution in the use of Office software, whether in terms of menus or aesthetics already revised with the appearance of ribbons in 2007 and the slight redesign in 2013.
It is therefore neither for the new functions, nor for the aesthetics that you have to buy an Office 2016 pack when you already have the 2013. In the case of a subscription to Office 365, the new version is available for free in update so as much to benefit from it on the computers concerned.
To always take advantage of the latest version of the Microsoft Office pack, there is the annual Office 365 subscription but the Office 2016 suite can also be purchased as a classic license:
An Office 365 suite is rented as an annual subscription, you have to pay each year to continue to use the software and authorized functions: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and 1 TB of OneDrive online storage. This subscription authorizes the installation of the Office pack on PC, Mac, smartphone and tablet.
First prize for the Office 2016 license (a lifetime purchase), the Home and Student version is intended for home or school use. The software included are Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote and the office suite is Windows PC and Mac compatible.
For much more, the Office 2016 Home and Small Business pack is geared towards very small businesses and liberal professions by adding the Office Outlook email client. Companies with multiple PCs and Macs will need to license per computer, as they have done so far with the office suite.
