Google Maps for iPhone and Android is great, but sometimes the journey starts on your desktop computer. Fortunately, it’s very easy to send these directions to your phone. You can pick up things there and be on your way.
All you have to do first is make sure that you’re signed in with the same Google account in Google Maps on your desktop and your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. In fact, if you have your phone number or email address associated with your Google account, you don’t even need the Maps app at all. We will explain.
To get started, head to maps.google.com in a desktop web browser like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Use the search bar to find the desired site.
This will bring up the site’s dashboard. One of the buttons under the site name is “Send to your phone”, click on it.
A list will appear with a list of devices linked to your Google account, including iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Tap the device you want to send directions to.
Here you will also notice the option to send or email directions to yourself if you have your phone number or email address connected to your Google account.
This is what the notification looks like when it appears on your Android device. Click on it to open the location in Google Maps.
Here’s what it looks like on an iPhone or iPad.
Thats all about it. It is really a very simple trick, but it can be very easy to use. Using Google Maps on your desktop can be much easier if you search a lot. Or maybe you just want to send a location to your phone at a later time. Make sure you take advantage of all that Google Maps has to offer.
