How to make the taskbar bigger or smaller on Windows 11

As of October 2021, the taskbar size cannot be adjusted in Windows 11 using the Settings app. Fortunately, we’ve discovered a registry hack that can make your taskbar bigger or smaller. Here’s how to do it.

Edit the record yourself

To change the size of the Windows 11 taskbar, you can either modify the Windows registry yourself or download the Hack ZIP file in one click in the section below. With our files, you can change between the three taskbar sizes by simply clicking on a file and restarting your computer.

Warning: Registry Editor is a powerful tool. Misusing it can make your system unstable or even inoperable. However, this is a simple hack, and if you follow the instructions completely, you should not have any problems. If you haven’t used Registry Editor before, consider reading about how to use it before you get started. We also recommend that you back up the registry (and your computer) before making any changes.

To start making the change the manual way, first, open the Registry Editor. Click the Start button, and type “regedit” , and select the icon Registry Editor When it appears in the results.

When the Registry Editor app opens, navigate to this key using the sidebar, or paste it into the address line near the top of the window:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced

Once you’re there, right-click on Advanced in the sidebar and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.

A new entry will be added to the list in the left pane of the Registry Editor window. Type or paste in the name of TaskbarSi.

Double-click on the Taskbar, and an Edit window will appear. In the “Value data” field, enter either 0, 1 or 2. This number corresponds to the taskbar size: “‘ means younger, and “1” mean average (default), and “2” It means the biggest. When done, tap “OK”.

Next, close the Registry Editor and restart your Windows 11 PC. When you log back in after the restart, you will find that the taskbar is now a different size!

If you change your mind, edit

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvancedTaskbarSi

Back in the Registry Editor, enter a new value (0, 1 or 2), then restart. To go back to the default size, enter “1” for the TaskbarSi value. Or you can use the log files we provided below.
