What should you look for in a Chromebook for school?

There are a few important things to keep in mind when looking for a Chromebook for school.

battery life

Nowadays there are often sockets nearby, even at school, but it is nice if a Chromebook also has a decent battery. Most Chromebooks do well in terms of battery life anyway, with a few exceptions.

Depending on personal wishes, I would go for a Chromebook that has at least 8 hours of battery life. In practice, this will always be slightly lower.

Screen size

A small Chromebook can be very useful, it is especially easy to carry around, but working for hours on a small screen is not necessarily ideal. That is also the reason that in the above list all somewhat ‘larger’ Chromebooks are called.

As a rule of thumb, I’d go for a minimum of 13 inches if schoolwork or college requires spending several hours a day in front of a Chromebook.

Budget

Chromebooks are available for every budget, and they are also known for being inexpensive. With a Chromebook, assume that you have to count from 250 euros, which can sometimes be slightly lower.

With the cheaper models, you often have to compromise on things like screen and battery life, so it’s always a consideration of what amount you actually want to spend.
