Asus abandons Windows RT tablets

Due to lack of commercial success, Microsoft had decided to lower the price of tablets Surface RT and Surface Pro. The constructor Asus made a more radical choice by simply abandoning the system Windows RT. Asus will therefore no longer market an ARM machine equipped with this version of Windows 8.

After doubts and withdrawals from the “RT” market by Acer, Samsung and Lenovo, only Dell remains as a major manufacturer to help Microsoft sell its Windows 8 RT.

The Taiwanese Asus will continue to produce Windows touch pads but only under Windows 8 classic.
