Acer is going to be the latest brand to enter the OLED monitor market, initially focusing on the gaming lineup. Like competitors ASUS, Dell and Samsung, the revealed model is the 48-inch Predator series “CG48” with 4K resolution with a 138Hz refresh rate starting in China in the second quarter of this year. Price 14,999 yuan, or about 8 ten thousand baht.
Predator CG48 is designed to work well with both PC and consoles. Ports include HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.4, as well as USB Type-B that can be used as an optional hub, up to four USB 3.2 and one USB Type-C for 65W of power. It also supports AMD’s top-of-the-line FreeSync Premium Pro technology to enable VRR-free gaming without stuttering, stuttering, or flickering.
In terms of display specifications, the Predator CG48 is a 10-bit display with 98% color gamut coverage of the DCI-P3, a 135,000:1 contrast ratio, 450 nits peak brightness, and HDR10 compliant. The minimum G-to-G response time is 0.1 ms.
Aside from China, other regions where Acer will release the Predator CG48 later in the third quarter are North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
